Scholarship Information – Accredited MBA Program Tips and Tricks

If you want to get a scholarship then you have to find an accredited MBA program. Only accredited MBA programs provide federal financial aid to students applying for business school programs. If you apply for an MBA from an unaccredited program, the odds are low you will get a scholarship. You may also find that many institutions will not necessarily recognize your degree.

Often finding a traditional top MBA program is easy for most students. However, finding an accredited online MBA program can be challenging. Even more difficult is finding top online MBA schools offering scholarships that are accredited by a recognized government or federal agency.

However, you can find one, because many exist. Here are some tips to help you start your journey:

    1. First, decide what program is best for you. You may not need to sign up for an MBA program. There are many top online schools and accredited business management schools offering scholarships that provide financial assistance for degrees other than the MBA. Make sure you sign up for the degree you want to proceed with and make a career out of.
    2. Make sure you have what it takes to succeed in an online program if that is what you decide to do. You can find an accredited online MBA program that will offer scholarships, if you have what it takes to succeed. Remember you will need to be committed to working alone on your own. You have to complete your assignments on time. You will have to meet stringent deadlines. Working on an online MBA program is hard work, sometimes harder than attending class.

    3. Look for accreditations from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBP) and if you can, the AACSB or the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. These are good accreditations for programs offering online advanced business degrees. For most universities regional accreditation is key to your success. You should also look for regional accreditation recognized by the US Dept. of Education or a similar authority. The Council for Higher Education also offers listings of recognized accrediting institutions you can refer to for additional information. The type of accreditation offered by the graduate school you select will influence what you can or cannot do with your MBA degree once you graduate. It may also determine the value of the degree you earn.

    4. Find a school that will allow you to take a time out if you need to, or accommodate a busy schedule, because sometimes in life things happen. If you decide to pursue an online program and have a scholarship, if you can find a flexible schedule that will work for you, go with that. It will make your life a lot easier in the event you have a hiccup and need to change your classes.
